At Spa, it is our intent that every pupil, irrelevant of needs, develops a passion for science that inspires their excitement and curiosity to pursue scientific enquiry.  We aim to develop young scientists who understand the crucial role that science has played and will play in our understanding of the world.  Children develop respect and empathy for the changing and vulnerable world around them, seeing it from different perspectives and making important scientific connections.  In fostering a love of reading, we encourage children to ask questions, make predictions, analyse and research ideas in order to solve problems and quench their thirst for knowledge.   Children know that perseverance and dedication are skills required to work successfully in science.  We utilise Kapow to resource our science curriculum, and this fosters a curiosity in children about the universe and promotes a respect for the world we live in.  Our curriculum is well structured and sequenced to enable knowledge and skills to be revisited throughout school and preparing children for secondary education. Prior learning, future learning and key vocabulary are clearly identified in lessons, instilling a thirst for further knowledge and study.
