We have recently been asked by some parents as to whether there are any opportunities for volunteering at Spa Academy Askern. We are currently looking to recruit parent reading volunteers to volunteer in school.

Reading Volunteers

As a school, our reading culture is unavoidable and has led to significant improvements at Spa. We are seeking parent volunteers that would be able and enthusiastic to support with reading with pupils (in addition to the reading with pupils that our staff currently undertake). Volunteers would access training, led by our Senior Leadership Team, on how to effectively support pupils when reading with them and then work with pupils across school. Being a school volunteer can provide the opportunity to: be involved with a vibrant and engaging school community; engage in learning activities with primary age children; develop knowledge of teaching and learning across the primary curriculum and gain experience as working as part of a team in a professional environment. If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity and able to commit to a weekly morning/afternoon slot, please contact school.
