Year 6 Leavers

Thank you for your replies as to whether or not you'd like to have a part in our Year 6 Music Video - celebrating their final year at Spa! For those that replied YES, this information will let you know what to do now.

IF YOUR CHILD IS ATTENDING SCHOOL: You will not see their name below. Don't worry! If you replied saying you would like your child to be a part of the music video - they are! We are doing 2 songs and one of those songs will be performed by those pupils in school. We'll record this with them in school so you don't need to do anything at home.

IF YOUR CHILD IS AT HOMEBelow are instructions on what to do. Follow these carefully, have fun with it and all videos must be sent in by Tuesday 7th July at noon. If you need any help whatsoever, please phone school on 01302 700332 and we can arrange a time to call and support you. If you don't want to film this at home, text us back and we can arrange a time for you to come into school and we can help film your child's part in our playground.

If you have said your child will send in a picture instead, please email a landscape picture to us at Their name will not be below.

Step 1: Work out what I'm singing. In the table at the bottom of this page, you'll find your child's name. Go along the row and you'll find their part numbertime and lyrics. If your name is not there and you think it should be - please reply by text letting us know this and we can contact you.

Step 2: Make a note of the time and lyrics.  Watch the video below through. If you're time is 0:58 - 1:02, then skip to this time in the song. This will match with the lyrics you are singing.

Step 3: Have some fun! Practise singing these lyrics to the camera with the music playing in the background. Get as creative as possible. Sing, dance, do whatever you want! (We want to make our Y6 video so much better than the teacher's!)

Step 4: Film it. You can film this on a phone or tablet. Open up the Camera app, turn the screen landscape, and film it. It doesn't matter if you're singing away or have the music playing in the background as when we edit it, we will cut all the sound out so it's just the song playing over the top. Most of our teachers took at least 10 video attempts before they were happy!

Play the song in the background for a little bit before your part so there's a few seconds extra either side. This means we just cut it down when we get it so don't worry about having someone else's part on yours - we'll cut it down to just your part.

Try not to be too far away from the camera - the fun is in being able to see you lipsync the words!

Step 5: When you've filmed it and you're happy. You need to send it into us. The easiest way of doing this by email. Login to your email, click 'attach' and click the file from your camera roll. Email these to Write the 'subject' as your part number.

Remember, those people below are not the only ones doing a video with another song. Those in school are making one and others are sending in a picture!
